House of Martha    House of Martha is a "safe home" for a maximum of 50 children aged 4-12 who are orphaned, abandoned, lost, or whose families are in severe crisis. In this nurturing environment, hurting and traumatized boys and girls find refuge, unconditional love and support, and a safe place for the healing process to begin. Our goal is to re-unite children with extended family or to place them into adoptive or foster homes. In Zambia one third of children are Orphans More than half are malnourished More than half of the children are not in school House of Martha The Update  We purchased the Newly renovated Home and Land! Before September of 2008 the our home was located in a very depressed and crowded district. What was once home to 15 children quickly became 30 children! The department of children and welfare of Zambia being so overwhelmed with children would drop children off in the yard without a word and speed away! Our home is one of the only homes that takes children up to 13 years old, because no one else would want them. September 2008 we moved into our newly renovated home which was 3 bedrooms, but is now 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths with an expanded kitchen and dining room and a laundry facility! What started as 30 children has now grown into 49 children! We have a 3 Room School house for our children whom have undergone extreme trauma.  And right beside our home is a christian school where we send the children who are ready to be integrated with the rest of the children. We have three crisis homes: For Infants-The House of Moses For Toddlers-The Bryant House Primary age and up-House of Martha
